Wedge Assembly Adjustment
As normalwearoccursandthereisexcessive"play"
betweenthe wedgeandbeam,adjustthe boltsonthe
sideof thewedgeassemblyto eliminateexcessspace
betweenthe wedgeandthe beam.
1. Loosenthejam nutson the twoadjustmentboltson
the sideof the wedge.SeeFigure5-1.
2. Turnthe adjustmentboltsin untilsnugandthen back
themoffslowly(approximately1.5turns)until the
wedgeassemblywill slideonthe beam.
3. Re-tightenthe jam nutssecurelyagainstthe side
of the wedgeto securetheadjustmentboltsin this
position.
Gib Adjustment
Periodicallyremoveand replacethe "gibs"(spacers)
betweenthe wedgeassemblyandthe backplate.
NOTE:Thegibs mayberotatedand/orturnedoverfor
evenwear.
1. Loosenthe locknutsundereach backplateand slide
the gibsout.See Figure5-1.
2. Turnor replacethe gibs.
3. Reassemblethe backplateandsecurewiththe lock
nuts.
4. Readjustthe boltson the sideof the wedgeassembly.
